I recently announced that I was bringing back the Book of Questions series in which I answer questions from the 1987 and 2013 Book of Questions by Gregory Stock PH.D! If you’d like to find out more about this series or catch up on posts from the series that you’ve missed then please click here!
In this post I’m going to be answering question 44 from the 1987 Book of Questions!
The question is…
You are offered $1,000,000 for the following act: Before you are ten pistols – only one of which is loaded. You must pick one of the pistols, point it at your forehead and pull the trigger. If you can walk away you do so a millionaire. Would you accept the risk?
Because if I picked the wrong pistol and shot myself then I would have died for nothing. I would have selfishly picked money over the chance to spend more time with the people I love doing the things I love. I get that nobody knows when they’re going to die but taking unnecessary and life threatening risks like this just seems downright stupid.
Why throw life away for the sake of $1,000,000 I mean I live in England that’s only about £800,000! Although I’d just like to point out that no amount of money would change my mind.
