I created my blog on April 27th 2007 aged 15, I was bullied in school for being a slim, music loving, hardworking, happy go lucky book worm and I needed an outlet for all of the emotions that came with that.
It’s been almost ten years now and my blog has grown and changed with me over the years, as my emotions, passions and interests have changed so too has the content that I have written.
On April 27th 2015 on my blog’s eighth birthday I announced that I was turning my blog, a much-loved hobby, into my full-time job and I haven’t looked back since. It is without a shadow of a doubt the best decision I have ever made.
I sit here now on December 28th 2016, proceeding with my bi-annual tradition of writing a new ‘about’ section but something is different this time.
Usually, when I sit down to write this post I know exactly what I want to write, I know exactly what I have planned for the year ahead and exactly what I intend to do with my blog over the coming year and so I tell you all about it.
Today though, I don’t know, I don’t know what I want to write and I don’t know what I want to do with my blog in 2017.
There are a few projects that I am already working on for 2017, a poetry anthology, I’d like to finish my first novel too and some other things I’m not ready to announce just yet, but for the most part I have no idea what 2017 will bring for me and it’s just so exciting! I’m going to embrace the creative side of my life in 2017 and just let things happen and just go with it! After all it’s only 2017 once, right?!
It is customary in About pages to talk about the blog and about the author and I suppose to an extent I have done that although perhaps in a slightly less precise and eloquent way than you may be used to if you are familiar with my previous About sections.
For now, at least and especially for those of you that are new to my blog I can tell you…
My name is Charlotte Emily, I am a 25-year-old, happy go lucky, writer and poet (publication pending), music is one of the greatest loves of my life as is reading and my blog is a reflection of all of these things and more.
I hope that you will find something you enjoy reading on my blog, but if for any reason you don’t whether you are a new reader or an old reader who just wants to go a different way now I want to thank you for being a part of my journey for however long it was and to also thank you for making it possible for me to do the thing that I love every day and call it work!
I wish you all the best for 2017 and beyond…
