As I write this today I find myself cocooned in the warmth of my office for what is actually the first time this year, I have been so busy travelling I have yet to actually spend any time at all back at base camp, so it is a welcome break to just be still for a moment and recharge all of my batteries before the wonderful chaos that has become my life takes me away on another adventure.
I have quite a few blog posts that I am going to publish today because as you will read in the posts that follow this one, I have been away for the last week or so and I found myself completely without internet or indeed any signal at all.
It was heaven, I had the best week in terms of the adventures we had but I also really enjoyed being completely disconnected from the world for a little while. It felt good to just be present and enjoy each day and every moment without the distraction of the wider world.
I am now obviously fully connected to the world again, I have a lovely mug of hot chocolate, a stack of biscuits and I also have an announcement that I would like to make…
On the 27th April 2018, also known as my blog’s 11th Birthday my first poetry anthology is being released! A lot of time, hard work and emotion has gone in to this book; I can’t wait to share it with you all finally!
It has been a difficult couple of years for me, the last few months especially have been incredibly hard as everything has sort of come to a head, my life has changed completely beyond what I ever thought was possible. I have been struggling, depression has been kicking the crap out me but I’m getting there now; it is great after all of that to be able to share the fantastic news that my poetry book is finally on its way!
I want to say a huge thank you to the amazing people in my life for standing by me and for putting up with me during this difficult transition time, I know that I have been an absolute horror at times, I don’t quite understand why you’ve put up with me, you either need your heads examining or I owe you money…
I wouldn’t have got through these times without your love and support though and I want you to know that I am eternally grateful, more so than you will ever know. It is because of you, the people who have stood by me through it all that I am sitting here now, drinking hot chocolate, announcing that something I have been working on for the longest time is finally coming to fruition!
As for you, my lovely readers, it is also because of the love that you all give me and the strength you give me to keep going that I am still here, still writing and let’s be honest still overdosing on the Hot Chocolate. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the love and most importantly the support you have all given me over the last almost 11 years now, I am eternally grateful, again more than you’ll ever truly know, I love you all so, so much.
To end this post, I’d like to share one of the new videos that I have recently uploaded to Richard’s YouTube channel, as I sit here reflecting on the last few months, years and the times ahead these lyrics ring through my mind; they seem very appropriate, so please enjoy Time Moves On by Richard Digance.
“Time moves on, doesn’t wait for no man, time moves on, it never turns the other way, time moves on, you can’t turn back the hours.”
Also, don’t forget to keep an eye out for the rest of the blog posts that I have coming your way later today!
