Blowing Bubbles – Poem

This post is the latest post of my new poetry series that still doesn’t have a name. It is a series in which I will be sharing poetry that I have recently found in my archives that I have never shared before.

I have had a lot of fun reading through them all and reminiscing and I thought that it might be fun to share them and reminisce with you all!

The poem that I want to share today is called Blowing Bubbles.

Sat on my back step blowing bubbles
Each shining soapy bubble is perfect
I’m filling them all with my love
And sending them to the heavens above
All of them are for you with all of my love

I wrote this poem when I was visiting my Dad and little sisters in France in 2010 I think it was, there was a death in the family and I was looking after my little sisters and we sat on the back step blowing bubbles and that prompted me to write this poem.

I remember even when I was little I loved blowing bubbles and my Nan would always say things like “send them up high so “they” can see them too!” they being family members that are no longer with us.

No matter what your thoughts and my thoughts on what happens when we die are I still to this day find it oddly comforting to think of sending bubbles up to loved ones to let them know we’re thinking about them.

Take Care,

Charlotte xo
