Going On An Interstellar Journey!

I recently announced that I was bringing back the Book of Questions series in which I answer questions from the 1987 and 2013 Book of Questions by Gregory Stock PH.D! If you’d like to find out more about this series or catch up on posts from the series that you’ve missed then please click here!

In this post I’m going to be answering question 28 from the 2013 Book of Questions!

The question is…

A large crew is being chosen for an interstellar journey to a distant planet containing the first known extra-terrestrial life. The expedition won’t return for a century, but the crew will be in suspended animation and age only a few years during the trip. Would you be interested? If not, what, if anything, would change your mind?

I wouldn’t go, I love too many people on planet earth too much to just go off to space and leave them and nothing would change my mind.

Space exploration is such a wonderfully amazing thing but I prefer to partake in it from the ‘safety’ of earth.

There is also still so much left for me to explore on this planet, it makes no sense to go and see someone else’s planet when I’ve not yet seen all of the one that I live on.
