The other day I announced that I was bringing back the Book Of Questions series in which I answer questions from the 1987 and 2013 Book Of Questions by Gregory Stock PH.D! In this post I’m going to be answering Question 2 from the 2013 Book of Questions so let’s get started!
What would you do if your 6 year old daughter’s favourite toy doll started trying to convince her that she needed a new friend – the next doll in the company’s line?
Well the first thing I’d do is probably pass out because I’m like 100% certain I don’t have a 6 year old daughter so if one suddenly appeared that’d be definitely be scary!
But being hypothetical, I’d make sure that she ‘lost’ that doll as soon as possible, I’d find a better doll to replace it with from a different brand and I’d never buy a doll from the other brand again.
It’s scary isn’t it because I truly believe that this is exactly the sort of thing that will happen one day… I mean it’s a BRILLIANT marketing strategy, scary as heck but brilliant!
It makes me think of Chucky though and the fact that something like that could possibly happen if the futuristic doll developed a mind of its own haha
It’s also making me think of Saw for some reason… “I want to play game…”
Is it just me that is reminded of things like that when thinking about this question?! Let me know! Also let me know what your answer to this question would be in the comments below, on Twitter @MissCharlotteEm or on any of my other social media sites which you can find by clicking here!
