Happy New Year Everyone!

2017… Let’s do this!

I am really looking forward to a new year and what actually feels like a fresh start, there are already so many exciting things to look forward to in 2017 and I can’t wait to just get stuck in to it all!

And-Then-Charlotte-Said, 2017, Happy-New-Year, New-Year-New-Start, Say-Yes, In-Omnia-Paratus,

I thought I would use my ‘Happy New Year!’ post to talk about my new year’s resolutions too because in my mind at least it all ties together.

I realise I’m repeating myself a little when I say that 2016 was all about healing, grieving, fixing and just letting go of a lot of things. 2016 was the year that I tamed the dragon that is my depression and so as we move now into 2017 I feel happier than I have for a very long time and I just feel better.

In light of me feeling better I have decided that I want 2017 to be the year I say YES. For so long now I have been held back by my depression, anxiety and also by people in my life but I want 2017 to be the year that I say YES to all of the adventures and opportunities that life presents me with.

I want to do more, I want to see more and I just want to live more in 2017. I refuse to be held back any longer!

That is my only resolution for 2017, to say YES to more things, to have more fun and to live more.

And-Then-Charlotte-Said, 2017, Happy-New-Year, New-Year-New-Start, Say-Yes, In-Omnia-Paratus,

I have a tattoo on my left wrist that I got when I was 19 that says “In Omnia Paratus”, at the time it was to remind myself that I could deal with the ongoing trauma of my Grandfather’s Alzheimer’s because I was ‘ready for anything’ but in 2017 I want In Omnia Paratus to also mean that I am ready for new adventures and I am just ready to live more.

I know this is a terrible photo but I was too lazy to set a flat lay up for my own wrist haha

I didn’t realise back in 2011 when I got my tattoo that In Omnia Paratus was an expression used within The Gilmore Girls, indeed it wasn’t until I recently binge watched all of the series on Netflix that I discovered this.

There is a great scene with Rory and Logan when Logan says:

“People can live 100 years without really living for a minute.”

I’m repeating myself now I know, but this year I intend to really live.

In 2017 I am going to do more, see more and live more and I am going to enjoy every minute of it and there isn’t a single thing that will change that.

I really hope that you all have a fantastic 2017 and that the New Year brings with it all that you desire.

I hope that in 2017 we can see more peace and love spread throughout the world because I am very aware that as I sit here in my lovely warm house talking about the adventures that I hope to have in 2017 and all of the living that I intend to do there are millions of people worldwide who aren’t as fortunate as I am and for them it won’t be a happy new year.

It’s not a resolution as such but in 2017 I fully intend to use my blog and it’s connected platforms to raise awareness, money and everything else we can possibly do to help those less fortunate but I will make a separate post talking about this.

I would once again like to wish you all a Happy, Healthy and fun filled New Year!
