Introducing Tekkit Tuesdays!

I’ve been talking a lot in recent posts about the changes that I want to make to my blog in 2015 (read the main post here). I’ve created a posting schedule for myself and I’ve decided that I’m going to start blogging about a few different things..

One of the new things I’m going to be blogging about is Tekkit (a Minecraft Modpack). I just wanted to explain in this post why it is that I’ve decided to blog about Tekkit because I actually have a few reasons.

The main reason is because I love playing Tekkit, it’s something I do a lot In my spare time, I really enjoy it and my blog is about the things that I love so I thought why not blog about it?

But here’s the best reason, in December when my littlest sister came to visit me from France I made a brilliant discovery. Both of my little sisters play Minecraft!

Now this may not seem like a big deal to you but to me it is and here’s why. They live in France and I see them for 3 weeks a year in total I have NOTHING in common with them, we struggle with phone conversations because it’s hard isn’t it? How can you maintain that connection with them when you’re not seeing them and you don’t really know anything about them I mean there’s 10 years between the eldest (Lily) & Me and teenagers grow and change so fast it’s hard to keep up with them when you see them regularly never mind when you don’t!

Minecraft has given me something to talk about with them, it’s not me asking 1000 questions trying to get to know them it’s actual conversation.

With them living in France and me not seeing them much I can’t easily show them what I’ve been doing on Tekkit, all of the fun stuff I’ve made etc. But if I blog about it they can read my blog which if you’ve been here for a while you’ll know that they do and they can see what I’ve done!

So I get to blog about something I love and keep the conversation going with my sisters it’s great and I’m excited about it!

By talking about Minecraft it’s made it easier to talk about other things to so in a way I actually feel like Minecraft has been a really positive catalyst for us! I love my little sisters so much, I hate not seeing them but I LOVE that I finally have something in common with them other than our genes and a high tolerance of our Dad’s terrible jokes..

So that’s why I’m going to be blogging about Tekkit, it’s not just for them though it’s for everybody and I hope that those of you that play will join in the fun too! 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to read this post, if Minecraft isn’t your sort of thing then that’s okay I have other content on my blog too but if you can’t find anything you like then there’s a whole internet out there for you to explore! 🙂

Do you play Minecraft? What do you play just regular Minecraft or a Modpack? Tell me in the comments below or on Twitter @MissCharlotteEm I’d love to know! xo
