The Eagles – One Of These Nights – Music Monday #12

Thanks for checking out the 12th post in my Music Monday series!

If you don’t know how Music Monday works then please click here to read the post that’ll tell you a bit more about it.

Today the record I picked at random from my collection was E10 – The Eagles – One Of These Nights!

If you’d like to listen along to the album whilst you read this post then I’ll place the album in a Spotify Player at the bottom of the post for your listening pleasure!

I’ve already done another Music Monday post on The Eagles and their album On The Border so I’ll refrain from giving you the same information on the band as I gave in that post. If you haven’t yet read the post about The Eagles – On The Border and you’d like to please click here to do so!

One Of These Nights is the 4th Studio Album from The Eagles released in 1975. The title track One Of These Nights was The Eagles 2nd Number One single on the billboard hot 100 chart in 1975 and the album as a whole was The Eagles first chart topping album. (Yes, it really did take The Eagles 4 attempts to top the charts, hard to believe right?!)

One Of These Nights is the last album to feature guitarist Bernie Leadon (replaced by legendary Joe Walsh and it’s also the first album to feature the only Eagles track that Don Felder sang lead vocals on “Visions”.

Let’s take a look at the track list shall we?

Side 1:

  • One Of These Nights
  • Too Many Hands
  • Hollywood Waltz
  • Journey Of The Sorcerer

Side 2:

  • Lyin’ Eyes
  • Take It To The Limit
  • Visions
  • After The Thrill Is Gone
  • I Wish You Peace

My favourite tracks on this album are Hollywood Waltz, Lyin’ Eyes, Visions and I Wish You Peace.

I have to say I don’t like Journey Of The Sorcerer. It’s instrumental and it’s 6 minutes long. I’m not against instrumental tracks in general I just feel like this one spoils the album. It’s just a bit repetitive and long. I’m grateful that it’s the last track on the first side though so I can just flip it over and move on.

What are your favourite tracks from this album? Also what do you think of Journey Of The Sorcerer and instrumental tracks in general? Let me know in the comments below, on Twitter @MissCharlotteEm or on any of my social media sites which you can find by clicking here.

If you’ve not yet heard the album you can check it out on Spotify in this handy little Spotify player!

I also highly recommend buying the album as well though, I mean The Eagles don’t need any more money but it’s a nice album to have in your collection.

If you’d like to own the album I bought mine from for about £10 and I’ve just checked and there’s lots of sellers on Music Stack selling decent copies for very reasonable prices.

I’d also just like to point out that I’m not sponsored by either Spotify or Music Stack in any way. They’re both just services that I love and use frequently!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. If you enjoyed it then please feel free to share it with your friends and family! 🙂

Don’t forget to come back next week to see which album I’ll be talking about next! If you’ve missed any of my other Music Monday posts you can catch up here! 🙂
